A certified nurse midwife (CNM) is a medical professional who provides a wide range of comprehensive, safe and personalized care for women. Our CNMs are also uniquely positioned to provide emotional support and health education for the patient and her family.
CNMs are licensed and certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives. They are qualified to provide:
- History and physical exams, including yearly well-woman exams and treatment of minor problems
- Family planning
- Pre-conception counseling
- Maternity care, including labor and delivery
- Care of peri- and post menopausal women
- Medication recommendations
- Health education
Our CNMs and physicians work in a collaborative environment and team conferences are held regularly to ensure that all providers are kept up to date. Each member of the team contributes his or her professional skills and expertise to help patients receive optimum care. Patients with complex medical conditions are referred to a physician.
